Alice L. Hurst, 90, of Kossuth passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 26, 2016 at the Clarview Nursing and Rehab Center.

Born January 5, 1926, in Shippenville, she was the daughter of Calvert and Cora Kapp.

Alice went to school in Pine City.  She worked at Knox Glass for 28 years before retiring and was a member of the Glass Bottle Blowers Association.

Alice enjoyed camping and crocheting.  She also loved playing bingo, playing cards and spending time with her family.

On Feb. 28, 1945 Alice married Otis Hurst who preceded her in death in 2001.

Alice is survived by her son Otis (Sue) Hurst of Knox; her daughter Bonnie (Pete) Shreffler of Kossuth; four grandchildren Alan (Roxie) Shreffler of Stoneboro, Lisa (Gary) Hartman of Kossuth, Scott Hurst of Knox and Rick (Marcey) Hurst of Lamartine; eight great grandchildren Timothy (Brittany) Shreffler of Polk, Natalie (Jeff) Wiant of Cranberry, Nathan Hartman of Kossuth, Aimee Hartman of Kossuth, Sr. Airman Matthew Hurst of Ft. Mead Air Force Base, Rebekah Hurst of Lamartine Tyler Hurst and Courtney Hurst of Knox. Also Surviving are four great great grandchildren Pipper Shreffler, Kahle Shreffler, Jordyn Wiant and Braelynn Wiant and a brother Ralph (Betty) Kapp of Knox.

Along with her husband and parents Alice was preceded in death by a grandson Jimmy Ray Shreffler, two brothers Shirl Kapp and Robert Kapp and two sisters in law Katie Kapp and Kathy Kapp.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 PM on Friday and from 10 to 11 AM Saturday at the McEntire-Weaver Funeral Home 504 East Penn Ave., Knox.  Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor Tom Hannold of the Turkey City Church of God officiating.  Interment will follow in Starr Cemetery in Knox.
