Mary Anna Whitling, 77, of Knox passed away Friday, November 11, 2016, at the Clarion Healthcare and Rehab Center following an extend illness.

Born November 26, 1938 Mary Anna was the daughter of Theodore and Evelyn Coleman Magness.

On June 22, 1957 Mary Anna married Gerald B. Whitling who she celebrated 52 years of marriage with before he preceded her in death on December 12, 2009.  Mary Anna and Gerald had a dairy farm together for 24 years.

Mary Anna was a member of the Grace E.C. Church and the Women’s Auxiliary of Gideons International.  She taught bible school, was a girl scout leader, enjoyed traveling the world and chasing Gerald’s hot air balloon.

Mary Anna is survived by two daughters Marsha (Glenn) Beichner of Clarion and Melodie Curran of Knox, a grandson Ryan Curran of Irwin, a sister Nancy Magness of Knox, a sister in law Darlene Fescenmyer of Knox, a niece and several nephews.

Along with her parents and husband Mary Anna was preceded in death by her mother in law Grace Whitling two brothers in law Don Whitling and Ray Fescenmyer and a sister in law Fay Whitling.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 4 pm Sunday, November 13, at the McEntire-Weaver Funeral Home 504 East Penn Ave., Knox, and from 10 to 11 am Monday November 14, at the Grace E.C. Church, 2561 Grace Church Road, Knox. Funeral services will be held 11 am Monday in the church with Rev. Rick Osberg officiating.  Interment will follow at the St. Marks Cemetery in Kossuth.

In lieu of flowers the family asks memorials be made to the Gideons International, Clarion Camp, PO Box 134, Clarion PA 16214, or the Grace E.C. Church.
