Willis E. Hook

July 12, 1928 ~ October 13, 2016 (age 88) 88 Years Old

Willis E. Hook, 88 of Knox passed away peacefully on his farm Thursday, October 13, 2016.

Born July 12, 1928 in Huckleberry Ridge, he was the son of Leroy and Evalyn Johnston Hook.

Willis was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the CO. C16 INF Regt Nuremburg, Germany.  He was a member of the Dehart-Rossman- Wenner American Legion Post 997 of Lamartine.  After returning home from war Willis worked with his dad and brothers installing plaster in many homes and churches.  He then worked and retired from the Knox Glass Plant.  After retiring he kept busy working the Hook Acres Farm where he enjoyed raising his dairy cows.  Willis also enjoyed doing word searches and going on walks.

On December 26, 1950, Willis married Winnie Hook who he celebrated 65 years of marriage with.

Along with his wife Willis is survived by seven children Linda (Terry) Young of Schuyler, VA, Renee (Robert) Woods of Knox, Steve (Laura) Hook of Knox, Jeff Hook of Knox, Heidi (Mike) Mercer of Clarion, Jodi (Dave) Fenstermaker of Tionesta and Joel Hook of Knox; ten grandchildren Heather, Tony, Bethany, Hope, Casey, Aaron, Jessica, Danielle, Cody and Crystal; and fifteen great-grandchildren Kaleb, Tyler, Austin, Dylan, Jacob, Bailee, Lyra, Liberty, Isaac, Kaiden, Leah, Evan, Preston, Collin and Leland.  Also surviving are a brother Ed Hook of Knox and a sister in law Stella Hook of Knox.

Along with his parents Willis was preceded in death by a daughter Amy Hook, a great-granddaughter Nevaeh Strawcutter, and two brothers Paul Hook and Stanley Hook.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6p.m. Monday at the McEntire-Weaver Funeral Home Inc, 504 East Penn Ave., Knox.  Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Keith Diehl of the Providence United Methodist Church officiating.

 The Dehart-Rossman- Wenner American Legion Post 997 of Lamartine will perform full military honors with the American Legion Post 720 of Knox assisting.

In lieu flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the Pine City Hall, The Providence Church or the Dehart-Rossman- Wenner American Legion Post 997 of Lamartine
