Cecil Cochran Obituary

Cecil Cochran, 72, of Knox, passed away following a brief illness Monday, November 5, 2018, at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital surrounded by his family.  

Born May 31, 1946, in Grove City, he was the son of Clifford and Laura Cochran.

Cecil attended Keystone High School and then went into the Job Corp.  He worked at the Knox Glass Plant until it close and then as an Ashland Township Supervisor for 30 years.  After retiring he went to work for EADS Group in Clarion as an inspector.

On June 28, 2003 Cecil married Sharyn Beebe who survives.

Cecil enjoyed sitting on his porch with his favorite dog Bella watching the traffic.  Cecil like to stay on the move, he spent many hours driving the road of Ashland Township checking their condition whether it was winter or summer.

Cecil was a member of the Edenburg Lodge 550 and a long time member of the Knox Volunteer Fire Co. where he liked to dress up as Smokey the Bear for Horsethief Days.

Along with his wife Cecil is survived by his two sons Chris (Angie) Cochran of Kossuth and Jason Cochran of Knox; two grandsons Darin Cochran of Fort Benning, GA and Gavin Cochran of Kossuth; four brothers Ray (Pat) Cochran Clifford (Florence) Cochran, Denny (Tina) Cochran, and Ricky (Janet) Cochran and several nieces and nephews.

Along his parents Cecil was preceded in death by two sisters Linda Cochran and Dixie Cochran and a brother Craig Cochran.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Thursday and from 10 to 11 am Friday at the McEntire-Weaver Funeral Home Inc, 504 East Penn Ave, Knox.  Funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday in the funeral home with Pastor Chris Lewis officiating.

In lieu flowers the family request memorials are made to the Knox Volunteer Fire Company, Po Box 106, Knox PA, 16232 or The Shriners Hospital for Children of Erie, Zem Zem Shrine, 2825 West 38th Street, Erie PA 16505.
