I send all my Love and Condolences to the Friedlund Family.... A very important time of my life was when Maurie and Ruth pastored our church, Cottage Grove EC Church in Akron, Ohio. I was saved there when I was 12 yrs. old because he was such an exceptional preacher. Ruth was a great lady and always remembered certain things during my youth even years later when they'd come back to Akron for a special occasion or funeral. Embarrassing or not, she 'd tell the story just as it happened. I always admired Ruth and Maurie, as a matter of fact he was my favorite preacher, and one night during Prayer Requests, I announced to my present pastor here in Tn. that my favorite pastor had just passed away. He gave me quite a look. Then I told him that he is now my favorite pastor, he just moved up. (I got quite a laugh). I will never forget the two of them, they were loved and hold a very special place in my heart. I keep a photo of them at one of their anniversaries in my sewing room and look at it often, remembering the good old days of my life with them in it. They were so strong in the Lord and set such a good example for all of us. RIP Ruth, we'll see you again when the Good Lord calls for us to come home too. xoxox

My deepest condolences to the family. Some of my fondest memories are of my time spent at Grace E.C. with Ruth and her husband. They were two of the nicest people I ever met.
