Wayne Willis Etzel, 86, of Cranberry, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 06, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born March 21, 1932, Wayne was the son of the late Willis and Genevieve Hanby Etzel.
On October 19, 1956 Wayne married Esther O'Neil who he celebrated 61 ½ years of marriage with.
Wayne graduated from Shippenville High School then went to serve in the Air Force. He was a Staff Sergeant and a Postal Officer and served 3 of his 4 years in England. Wayne worked for Owens-Illinois Glass in Clarion for 32 years.
Wayne was a long time member of Grace EC Church in Ninevah. He was devoted to his family and friends and loved his pets. Wayne enjoyed farming, hunting and his Sunday afternoon site seeing tours of local historical landmarks. Wayne was a friend to everyone he met.
Wayne is survived by his wife Esther, his children Steven (Michelle) Etzel of Milwaukee, WI, David (Annette) Etzel of Hazelton, and Debra (Carl) DeCato of Youngstown, OH; his grandchildren Matthew DeCato, Mari (Jeremy), Becki (Andrew), Michael, Madison, Anthony and Matthew Etzel and a great granddaughter Charlotte. Also surviving are his brothers and sisters Imogene Beichner of Marble, Robert (Ruby) Etzel of Shippenville, Lois Reiter of San Diego, CA, Janice (Richard) Beichner of Tampa, FL and Elaine (Michael) Sardi of Raleigh, NC.
Along with his parents Wayne was preceded in death by several brothers in law and sisters in law.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday, June 8th at McEntire-Weaver Funeral Home, 504 East Penn Ave, Knox, and from 10 to 11 Saturday at the Grace EC Church, 2561 Grace Church Road, Knox. Funeral services will be held Saturday in the church at 11 AM with Rev. Rick Osberg officiating. Interment will follow at Starr Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks memorial be made to the Grace E.C. Church, 2561 Grace Church Road, Knox PA 16232.
