Barbara Kaye Finch, 86, of Knox, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at the Laurel Brook Personal Care Home in Brookville.
Born August 28, 1939, at home in Knox, Kaye was the daughter of the late Carroll and Earla Weaver.
Kaye graduated from Keystone High School in 1957. She went on to graduate from Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC, in 1961, with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Motion Picture Production and English.
In 1962 Kaye joined Sam Orleans Production as an editor of John Glenn’s Space Flight. Movie making was her passion, she continued on to motion picture production at the University of Iowa for six years, and the University of Wisconsin for ten years specializing in documentaries. Kaye received various awards including two C I N E awards and a bronze medal from the Atlanta International Film Festival. Kaye was a founder and owner of Goldfinch Productions, she also held patents for some of her inventions.
Kaye traveled extensively in the Americas and Europe she also traveled to Isreal where she was baptized in the Jordan River. She resided in Texas, California and Virginia before settling back in Clarion County.
Her friendly demeaner and generosity were well known. She enjoyed entertaining guests with guided tours and candle lit home cooked meals, she loved spending time with family and friends.
Kaye was a longtime member of Grace Evangelical Church in Ninevah and loved to recite Bible verses and gospel song lyrics.
Kaye is survived by her siblings Donna Hogue of Knox, Daniel (Margaret) Weaver of Knox, Mark (Jan) Weaver of Knox, 11 nieces and nephews, 19 great nieces and nephews and 14 great great nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Kaye was preceded in death by a sister and her husband Patricia and Gerald Weaver, a brother in law Raymond Hogue, a nephew Nathan Weaver and a great nephew infant Andrew Weaver.
The Family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:15 AM at the Grace E.C. Church on Saturday, July 25, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 11:15 with Pastor Michael Will of Grace E.C. Church officiating. Interment will follow at Valley Cemetery.
