Carolyn “Joyce” Brosius, 84, of Brookville, formerly of Knox went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 4, 2024.
Born April 12, 1940, in Big Rock, Tennessee, Joyce was the daughter of the late James and Grace Nealy.
Joyce was raised in western Kentucky. On January 3, 1959, she married Kenneth Brosius, who she met while he was stationed in FT Campbell. They moved to Knox in 1959 and he preceded her in death in 2006. Joyce was a homemaker for most of her life and worked for the VNA Extended Care, which she retired from.
Joyce loved going to church at the Summerville Church of Christ and eating out on Friday nights with her friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, tending to her flowers and loved to read, especially the Bible.
Joyce is survived by her children Beverly (Kerry) Stover of Brookville, Wayne (Cheryl) Brosius of Strattanville and Amy (Craig Carrier) Keth of Shippenville; her grandchildren Remington (Darina) Stover of Elizabethtown, PA, Felicia Stover of Pittsburgh, Cara (Jay) Rasch of Parma, OH, Jack Brosius of Clarion, Leah (Josh Solida) Keth of Strattanville, Rachel (Zak) Lynn of Clarion and Jensen (Zach) Noel of Eastern PA; her great grandchildren Gattlin and Grady Stover of Elizabethtown and Parker Lynn of Clarion; her brothers Wendell Nealy and Johnny Nealy both of Michigan and her best friend Patty Bell of Knox.
Along with her husband and parents Joyce was preceded in death by a son Steve Brosius, three brothers Leslie Nealy, Larry Nealy and Wayne Nealy.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday, August 6 and 10 to 11 AM on Wednesday, August 7 at the McEntire-Weaver Funeral Home, 504 East Penn Ave, Knox. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday in the funeral home with Pastor Mike Smith of the Summerville Church of Christ officiating. Interment will follow at the Phipps Cemetery in Elmo.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials are made to the Summerville Church of Christ, 12514 Harrison St. Summerville PA 15864.
