Dorothy O. Ausel, 89, died Sunday July 17, 2016 at the Clareview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born September 8, 1926, in Knox, she was the daughter of John M. Ausel and Edna Ekis Ausel. 
Dorothy was employed for many years at the Clarion Grandview Convalescent Home as a dietary aide.  Prior to her employment she was a caregiver to children.  Dorothy was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Knox.
Dorothy is survived by her brother Edwin Ausel and his wife Jean of Knox.    Also surviving are niece, Tamara Hornsby (Luther), nephew Jeffery Ausel (Darla) and nieces Joey Bigley and Judy Gaus (Timothy).  Also surviving are her grandnieces Allyson Pearce (Brandon), Rebecca Ausel, Ellen Gaus, and grandnephew Peter Gaus.
Dorothy shared a special relationship with her friends and considered the David E. Lewis family to be her extended family. 
Along with her parents Dorothy was preceded in death by her brother John C. Ausel, sister F. Margery Bigley and nephew Gregory Ausel. 
The family will receive friends on from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Tuesday and 10 to 11 AM Wednesday at the McEntire-Weaver Funeral Home 504 East Penn Ave., Knox.
Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday in the funeral home with Rev. Ken Tack officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Charitable Deeds and Services, 98 Hickory Nut Lane, Knox.
