Douglas R. Vensel, 73 of Knox passed  away on July 29, 2016 at the Clarview Nursing and Rehab Center.

Born July 4, 1943, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Richard and Sarah (Collner) Vensel.

On August 14, 1991 Doug married Marcia McCoy.

Doug served in the Navy during the Vietnam War.  He worked several jobs including teaching at Butler Middle School, ACV High School and was a field appraiser for the Industrial Appraisal Co.

Doug enjoyed photography, kayaking, his pet dogs and cats and woodworking which he taught at ACV High School.

Along with his wife Doug is survived by a daughter Michelle Vensel of Mars, a Niece Kirsten Thayer of CA and a sister Jaclyn Mollerus of Columbus OH.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents and a brother William Vensel.

At Doug’s request there will be no visitation of services.
