Elizabeth “Betty” Fleming, 83, of Knox passed away Thursday, February 11, 2021, at the Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness.
Born October 14, 1937, in Freeport PA, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Elizabeth Bell.
Betty attended Shippenville School then graduated from Keystone High School.
On September 24, 1955 Betty married Carl Fleming who preceded her in death in 2013.
Together Betty and Carl started a small strawberry patch on the homestead in Blairs Corners which grew into Fleming’s Strawberry, an eight acre family ran business which they operated for 40 years.
Betty was member of the Red Hats and Eastern Star. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, bowling, crafts, cooking and baking.
Betty is survived by her daughters Patty Porter of Knox, Pam & Rich Anderson of Akron and Carla & Joe Klinger of Knox; her grandchildren Joseph & Jessica Anderson of Akron, Josh & Hannah Anderson of Florida, Megan Porter of Washington DC, Kirk & Laura Porter of Knox and Danika Klinger of Knox. Also surviving are Betty’s siblings Louis Henderson of Corry and James Bell of New Bethlehem.
Along with her husband and parents Betty was preceded in death by a grandson Jared Klinger, a sister Dorris Baughman, two brothers Bob and Donald Bell and a son in law Donald Porter.
There are no services scheduled at this time. Interment took place at Knox Union Cemetery.
