Gary Brosius Obituary

Gary Brosius, came into this world on August 29, 1993, and left on Thursday, February 8, 2024 at the age of 30 to join his Heavenly Father where addiction will no longer be able to reach him!

Gary’s addiction does not define who he is or who he was… He was SO much more!

He was the son of his dedicated mother, Connie Guntrum and she was Gary’s #1 supporter and Gary Brosius Sr.; a brother to 2 of whom he idolized Joshua Gourley (Hollie) and Joesph Brosius (Brandi) and one he chose as his brother Zachery Ahlman from Maine. He was grandson to his Grandma Phyllis Agnello, a nephew to his Aunt Lisa Bowser (Don Clark) who will always know him as her Baby Gary and Uncle Andy Guntrum, Uncle Ed Bowser, Aunt Vicki Kaltenbaugh, Aunt Michelle (Steve) Etzel, Aunt Donna Brosius. He was a cousin to many but 3 cousins he was closest to Michael Switzer, Marcus Bowser and Logan Brosius. He was an Uncle to Kaleb, Kayden, Cass, Nadia, Zoey & Paisley. Gary was the best friend to his lifelong bestie Erin Texter, and many more family members and friends of whom he loved and cherished. Gary was preceding his death was his Grandmother whom he loved and missed dearly and spent a lot of time with as a child, Shirley Moyar.

Gary spent his life between Knox Pa and Maine attending Keystone High Knox Pa and Mount Blue High in Maine picking up lifelong friends along the way. He loved his Boston Celtics and loved watching football- Greenbay Packers or the Pittsburgh Steelers were his favorite teams. He loved to fish and Gamble and was quite lucky at both! Gary had the most quirkiest sense of humor and the most welcoming smile with beautiful blue eyes. He enjoyed his music, clothes, hats (flat brimmed ) and his shoes ! He loved dressing in style. It was hard to find Gary without some type of music playing! He sure loved his tunes!

Never being a fan of large crowds or of people, he didn’t like people much …but the people he chose to be in his life, he loved and cared for 100% whole heartedly and unselfishly!

Reaching a milestone of which he was very very proud…Gary was 7.5 months clean.. very hopeful and excited to start his new life …BUT… The Demons found its way back in and took HIM from those who loved and needed him dearly!

McEntire-Weaver Funeral Home in Knox Pa will be handling a private gathering for Gary’s family and closest friends to find some kind of closure and say their last goodbyes to the shell that held the dearest and most gentle soul…
