Kenneth Edwards Obituary

Kenneth R. Edwards, 75, of Knox passed away in the early morning hours of March 24, 2024, at his home following a battle with dementia and declining health.

He was born on February 19, 1949, in Los Angelos, California the son of the late Opal Noe and Kenneth Edwards. Ken often talked to his children about growing up with his sister Sandy Edwards in the desert being raised by his grandparents Lloyd and Ruth Noe.

Ken moved to Pennsylvania where he met his former wife Virginia Edwards with whom he had 5 children and remained friends. He is survived by his son Eric Edwards (Sue Edwards) of Knox and his daughter Becky Edwards (Derek Stewart) of Knox. Ken is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Brittney Sheatz (John Stephens) of Clarion, Daniel Edwards of Knox, Austin Edwards (Keira Stiglitz) of Marble, Kendrick Stewart and Keegan Stewart of Knox and one great grandson Forrest Day of Clarion. Ken also had one nephew who survives, Bill Bell (Ariel Bell) of Central Lake, MI. Also left to cherish his memory is his long time significant other Charlotte Hornberger of Knox and her children and grandchildren, whom he treated as his own.

Ken worked in the manufactured housing industry for many years setting, repairing, and selling mobile homes, working as an independent employer, for Astro Homes, for Bud Schmader, and for Affordable Family Housing. Ken ended his career retiring from Commodore Home in the parts and service department.

Ken’s greatest joy was spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, and friends. Ken loved being in nature and spending many weekends with his children in the woods hiking and fishing when they were young. Ken also had a great love for music, teaching himself to play bass and electric guitar. If you knew Ken, you knew him as a kind, caring, compassionate person who would do anything for anyone. He enjoyed a good debate with anyone he came across as well and prided himself on his intelligence, hence the struggle when he was diagnosed with dementia. Also left to cherish his memory were good friends who stood by him through his battle which included Jim and Patty, Laura and Roger, and Billie and Fred.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, his sister and three children shortly after birth Daniel, Michael, and Elizabeth, as well as a very good friend Wayne Veite.

The family would also like to thank the staff with LifeForce In Home Care for providing 24-hour care for Ken so he could live out his final days at home and pass in peace and the Clarion VNA for providing comfort care in his final days.

The McEntire-Weaver Funeral Home in Knox is handling Ken’s arrangements. There will not be a service as Ken requested to be cremated. If you would like to help the family to defray the cost, any donations can be made to the funeral home.
