Marjorie E. Young, 82, of Knox, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at the Jefferson Manor in Brookville after a period of declining health.
Born June 6, 1942 in Oil City, Marjie was the daughter of the late Wayne and Florence Weaver.
Marjie graduated from Keystone High School. She worked as a secretary at the USAF Academy in Colorado Springs where she met her husband of almost 60 years.
On October 23, 1965, Marjie married Charles “Skip” Young in the Salem United Church of Christ.
Most people knew her as the lunch lady at Keystone High School, but most of her career was spent as a secretary at Keystone Elementary School. She was a member of the Easter Star “Rainbows”, the Knox Public Library Book Club and the Knox United Methodist Church Ladies Prayer Group. Marjie helped with the Ladies Seminar and volunteered at Clarion Forest VNA and the Knox Horsethief Committee.
Marjie is survived by her husband Skip Young; her children Erin Young Lloyd of Knox, David Young and his wife Rachel of Knox; and her grandchildren Conrad Lloyd, Corinne Lloyd, Kenna Lloyd and Sol Young all of Knox.
Along with her parents, Marjie was preceded in death by a brother Lynn Weaver, a sister in law Pat Langwell Weaver, a nephew Andrew Weaver and numerous aunts and uncles.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 PM on Monday, March 10, at the McEntire-Weaver Funeral Home, 504 East Penn Ave. Knox. A memorial service will take place at 5 PM in the funeral home with Pastor Gina DelAir officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to Samaritan’s Purse or the Keystone Elementary Library.
