Mildred “Jean” Stahlman, 82, of Knox, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2023 at the Shippenville Healthcare and Rehab Center.
Born September 28, 1940, in Clintonville, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Hartzell.
Jean graduated from Keystone High School in 1958, she continued her education at Clarion University graduating with an Associate Degree in Accounting and Business Management. She worked at Knox Glass for 21 years, Penelec for 7 years and 20 years for H & R Block in Clarion before retiring.
On October 12, 1957 Jean married Mervin Stahlman who passed away in 2018.
Jean was a member at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she was the Bible School director for many years. She enjoyed attending bible studies, sewing, homemaking, and her dogs, especially Mitzie and Katie.
Jean is survived by her children M. Christine (Steve) Chambers of Kossuth, Bonnie (Mike) Perry of Knox, Michael (Jayanne) Stahlman of Shippenville and Donald (Wendy) Stahlman of Chambersburg; her grandchildren Chris (Chrissy) Chambers, Steven Chambers, Sonja (Jason) Shook, Rebekah (Jonathan) Baisch, Keleigh (Micah) Sopher, Tiffany, Jeremiah and Casey Stahlman, Chelsey and Makayla Perry and Kathy (Richard) Myers and John Wygant who lived with her for many years; thirteen great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.
Along with her parents Jean was preceded in death by her siblings Shirley, John, Chester and George (Jim) and a sister in law Grace.
A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, July 15, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1051 Twin Church Road, Knox. with Pastors Karen Parsh and Doug Dyson co-officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials are made to the Knox Area Ambulance Co., PO Box 636, Knox PA 16232, the Knox Public Library, PO Box 510, Knox PA 16232 or the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
