Patricia Porter Obituary

Patricia “Patti” Caye Porter, 69, of Wentlings Corners, Knox, died on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at the Oil City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, following a long battle with dementia.

Born on April 9, 1956, in Clarion, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Carl F. and Elizabeth “Betty” Fleming of Knox. She was a 1974 graduate of Keystone High School and she graduated from Sharon General Hospital School of Nursing in 1977 where she was senior class secretary and historian.  Patti worked as a registered nurse for many years at Clarion Hospital.  

Patti was married on August 13, 1977, to her first love, Donald F. Porter II, who preceded her in death in 2005. She is survived by a daughter, Megan Elizabeth Porter of Pittsburgh, a son, Kirk Donald Porter, daughter-in-law, Laura, and granddaughter, Charlotte of Wentlings Corners. She is also survived by her long-time special companion and partner, Eugene “Chicken” Wolbert of Snydersburg, and his daughters Julie (Jim) Edder, Trish (Bill) Watt and families.  Patti is also survived by two sisters, Pamela Anderson and husband, Richard, of Green, Ohio, and Carla Klinger and husband, Joseph, of Knox; brother-in-law, Kevin Porter of Shippingport; five nephews, Amos E. Rudolph (Kim), of Cranberry, Jacob K. Rudolph, of Middletown, Virginia, Joseph C. Anderson (Jess) of Green, Ohio and Joshua R. Anderson (Hannah) of Orlando, Florida, and two nieces, Brandi R. Smith (Will), of Roanoke, Virginia, and Danika E. Klinger (Joe Wojcik), of Glen Burnie, Maryland.  She is also survived by her special caregiver Kim Kline of Clarion as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.   

In addition to her husband, Patti was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Betty Fleming, her in-laws, Donald Sr. and Faye Porter, a sister-in-law, Vicki Lynn Porter Rudolph, and a nephew, Jared Klinger. 

As a proud and loving partner, mother, and grandmother, she enjoyed sharing her life with her partner, children, and granddaughter. She loved quality time with her family, friends, and dog, Lucy, traveling, gardening, and collecting rocks, acorns, pinecones, and any other nature that would fit in her pocket. Her kind heart and compassion shown through in her work as a registered nurse at Clarion Hospital, where she made many lifelong friendships, and was obvious to any who knew or met her. 

Services will be held at the McEntire-Weaver Funeral Home, Inc., 504 E. Penn St., Knox on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. The family will receive friends for a viewing and fellowship from 10 AM-12 PM with a service following immediately after, with Rev. Tony Fields presiding. Interment will follow at the Knox Union Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in her memory.
