Paul Snyder Obituary

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life so fully lived, we announce the passing of Paul Andrew Snyder, age 61. Paul went home on February 22, 2026, after recently suffering some heart complications.  On his final day, he spent it exactly where he was happiest, with family.  He had the joy of spending his final day with his daughters, grandchildren, and holding his newborn grandson. His final hours were surrounded in love and the quiet joy of family.

Paul was born in Lucinda, Pennsylvania, on November 17, 1964, to Robert and Mary Helen (Pfendler) Snyder. He grew up alongside his five siblings (Gregory (Deb) Snyder, Roberta Snyder, David (Dolly) Snyder, Bernadette (Ken) Weaver, and Dianna (Joseph) Karg, in a home where hard work, loyalty, and looking out for one another were simply a way of life. In his younger years, Paul enjoyed playing baseball and hunting and fishing. Paul attended St. Joseph’s Elementary School in Lucinda and graduated from North Clarion High School.  Soon after, he began working at the family business, Carmate Trailers.

Over the years, Paul wore many hats, but he spent the majority of his life driving tanker truck across the country with his wife, Diana. He took pride in his work, in the miles he traveled, and in providing for his family. In recent years, Paul poured his energy into building a firewood business, finding deep satisfaction in honest labor and helping others stay warm. He quietly donated wood to volunteer companies and families in need, never seeking recognition. Anyone who knew Paul would say the same: “He would give the shirt off his back to help someone else.”

Above all else, Paul was a devoted and loving father. His greatest pride and joy were his daughters, Heidi Neely and Heather Brophey. Paul reminded them daily how proud he was of the women they had become, and they never once doubted the depth of his love. He adored his grandchildren, Clara and Everett (Neely), and treasured every moment watching them grow. On the final day of his life, he was blessed to hold his brand-new grandson, Kieran (Brophey). In that moment, he was simply “Papa” filled with overwhelming love and peace.  He loved his son-in laws (Will Neely and Michael Brophey) and was proud of the men that his daughters had married.

Paul was married to Diana (Burdette) Snyder on March 30th, 2000.  They shared 30 years together building a life filled with memories alongside their creek-side home on Porcupine Lane. He was also a stepfather to Darren (Erin) Komarow and Chris (Jen) Komarow and a step-grandfather to Madison, Riley, Sarah, and Eliana Rea, and a great grandfather to Corbin.  In the later years, Paul and Diana took pride in their 3 black labs (Justice, Murphy, and Cooper).  A familiar sight to many, was Paul with his black labs faithfully by his side. Whether working or out and about, his dogs were never far from him. They were his companions, his helpers, and brought him and Diana much happiness.

In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, Paul is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.  Paul was preceded in death by his father, Robert Anthony Snyder, and his nephew, Robert Joseph Snyder. His family finds comfort in imagining their joyful reunion.

Paul’s legacy is one of generosity, grit, humor, and unwavering love for his family. He worked hard, loved deeply, and lived simply.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your local Ambulance service or Fire Department in Paul’s honor, continuing his lifelong commitment to helping others.
