Richard Rowe Obituary

Richard E. Rowe Jr., 84, of State College, passed away on June 18, 2025 at his home following an extended illness.

Born on March 4, 1941, in Oil City, Richard was the son of the late Richard and Elizabeth “Betty” Hawks Rowe.

Richard graduated from Keystone High School then continued his education at Penn State.  Over the years he worked at the Knox Box Factory, Agway and Pennfield Feeds.

On March 18, 1960, Richard married Linda L. Ritts who survives.

Richard enjoyed gardening, raising cattle, Penn State football and basketball, traveling, reading and history.

Richard is survived by his wife Linda Rowe of State College, two daughters Cheryl Rowe of State College and Julie (Brian) Ciepierski of Newnan, GA; a daughter in law Jodi Rowe of Bellefonte;  two grandsons TJ Sunday and Mathew Rowe and two great grandsons Vance Sunday and Maverick Rowe all of Bellefonte and two siblings Dorothy Rowe Colvin of Knox and Robin Rowe of Tallahassee, FL.

Along with his parents, Richard was preceded in death by two children Debbie and Michael Rowe, his grandparents and several aunts and uncles.

Family and friends will be received from 10 to noon on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the Salem Reformed Church of Lamartine, 2055 Turkey City Road, Knox.  Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, in the church, with Reverend Chris Lewis officiating.
