Ryan David Brown

Ryan David Brown, 40, of Knox, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Sept 26, 2024.

Ryan leaves behind his legacy of a deeply loving father, adoring husband, and an all-around outstanding gentleman.

Ryan traveled out west in his youth, taking on adventurous outdoor professions including camp counselor, fly fishing guide, and naturalist. He later pursued fire academy in California and became a wild land firefighter for both the forest service and CalFire.

He met his soul mate Mary Preisel in 2011 and they chose to move to their home state of Pennsylvania to live closer to their tight-knit family and start their business, BrownBark Tree Service. Ryan was a superior climbing arborist and has left behind hundreds of squirrel carvings throughout the area, BrownBark's trademark mascot.

He and Mary were married June 24, 2017 in Cook Forest and spent many amazing years in love with traveling and one another. Their romance was one of storybook fantasies.

He is survived by his dedicated wife Mary, the apple of his eye, son Alder, cherished daughter, Scarlett, beloved mother Linda Brown, sisters Jenni and Deanne Brown, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and possums.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willis and Annabelle Kirkbride.

Ryan had an adventurous soul and lived every breath to its fullest. To know him was to love him. He had only smiles and laughter for everyone he met, never complained, and was always excited to take on a new challenge. He brought joy to all he knew and will be gravely missed far and wide.
