Wilbert "Bill" Showers

Wilbert “Bill” Showers, 84, of Knox, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at the Salem Regional Medical Center in Ohio.

Born May 14, 1940, Bill was the son of the late Wayne and Betty Showers.

In September of 1965 Bill married Victorie Lynn Hannold who preceded him in death in 2021.

Bill was involved in the trucking industry for several years, from dispatching for Primrose Trucking to operating his own truck for Shower’s Trucking.  He was a longtime member of Whitetails Unlimited, Bill enjoyed driving truck with his favorite co-pilot KB, his dog.  He also enjoyed boating, hunting and traveling to visit his family and friends.

Bill is survived by his children Jim (Jolenne) Kostelansky of Leechburg, Michael (Marcella) Showers of Erie, David Showers of Erie, Lynette (James) Slagle of Knox, Staci (Mike) Showers of Knox and Thadd Showers of Knox; a sister Shirley Amanda Reisinger of Hesperia, CA; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Along with his wife and parents Bill was preceded in death by a daughter Tara Lee Showers, a brother Tim Lilyquest and his good friend Jim Lee.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, at the McEntire-Weaver Funeral Home Inc., 504 East Penn Ave., Knox.  Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with Pastor John Green officiating.
