Denise Ann Pickens, 59, of Lamartine passed away unexpectedly January 19, 2017 at her home.

Born October 16, 1957 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Ray and Pat Hoffman.

Denise graduated from Clarion University and worked as a social worker for Clarion and Venango Counties.

Denise married David Pickens who preceded her in death in 1996.

Denise was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling with her friends and supporting and participating in church and community activities.

Along with her parents Denise is survived by three sons Jeremy (Josette) Pickens of Penn Hills, Justin (Laura)  Pickens of West Middlesex and Jon (Chelsea) Pickens of New Willmington; four grandchildren Ashleigh Pickens of Penn Hills, Lucian, Grayson and Harper Pickens all of West Middlesex, two brothers Tim (Robin) Hoffman of New Orleans and Dan (Kim) Hoffman of Washington, PA, and a sister Jill (Ray) Zelina of Monessan.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 PM on Sunday at the McEntire-Weaver Funeral Home 504 East Penn Ave., Knox and from 10 to 11 AM Monday at the Salem Lutheran Church, 2057 rt 208, Lamartine.  Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday in the Church with Pastor Karen Parsh officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials are made to the Salem Lutheran Church Youth Fund, PO Box 82 Lamartine PA 16375 or the Venango County 4-H, 867 Mercer Road, Franklin PA, 16323.
